Program Description

Are you a veteran seeking to appeal a VA disability claim?  Are you looking for an experienced attorney or agent practitioner to represent you before VA, the Board of Veterans' Appeals, or the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims?  Veterans who pursue their appeals for VA benefits without professional representation are often at a severe disadvantage, because VA laws and regulations are complex, convoluted, and under constant change.

NOVA has resources to help! NOVA is a 600+ attorney member organization dedicated to the representing the interests of veterans nationwide who are injured due to their military service. Visit our Attorney/Agent Directory to find contact information for experienced veterans' law attorneys and practitioners. You can search for advocates in the state of Maryland. A recent change in VA law now allows a veteran to hire an attorney or qualified agent once the VA's appeals process has been initiated; that is, once a veteran has filed a Notice of Disagreement (NOD) at his or her Regional Office (RO). For choosing an advocate, don't be afraid to ask questions and speak to a few potential advocates before you make a decision.

Please note that NOVA Staff will not be able to answer specific legal questions or offer legal advice.
